Embrace the Cold this Winter and Ditch the Back Pain!

It’s a poorly kept secret that cold water exposure can make you feel great, you’ve probably heard at least one of your friends talking about taking on the cold but did you know that exposing yourself to cold water daily could improve your back pain?

Increasing amounts of research shows that spending between 30 seconds up to 2 minutes in cold water daily can boost your happy hormones and reduce inflammation in the body. These two things can play a huge role in reducing your back pain and helping you feel more resilient and capable of getting back to the things you really enjoy!

Three tips on making cold water exposure easier:

1.     Start with a warm shower and gradual turn down the heat until you get to cold.

2.     Begin with just a 30 second cold shower and gradually build it up.

3.     Take a friend to a local swim spot or your gym’s plunge pool, you’ll be surprised at how long you can stay in once you get chatting.
